Calabar Alumni Day has evolved from our annual Alumni Football Game, which was started in 2012 with a handful of Old Boys. This group is called Sons of Rabalac (SoR).
The goal was to assist and reward Football Student Athletes. At the same time, it provides an opportunity for former students to reconnect with Calabar while supporting current student athletes. The purpose is to foster alumni engagement and create a space for networking and mentorship. Where former athletes could offer guidance, share experiences, and even assist with the development of current students.
The 36 invited Student Athletes (12 Pepsi, 12 Colts & 12 Manning Cup players) are based on their academics and behavior throughout the football season. The return of the Alumni Game post covid has been super amazing, hence the evolution of now Calabar Alumni Day. The “Day” will always be the Sunday after Boys/Girls Champs and will include but not limited to cricket, basketball, and football.
Rabalac Lions, come and reminisce, reunite with former classmates/teammates, and stay connected with your Alma Mater. So yes, in a way, Calabar Alumni Day will be a multifaceted event that both celebrates the past and shapes the future, fostering a stronger, more engaged school community.
Here, Sir!
